Week 3- Planes, Trains and Automobiles!
How are you getting there?I have thought this over quite a lot in recent weeks, and I checked online travel companies for tickets to London in October, but the problem for me is deciding on how to get there.
BusesNational Express are offering great deals financially, but travelling times are quite high, which is understandable given that driving into London is no mean feat. Wherever you are in mainland Britain, you should be able to get a National Express Coach, but check their website before making any arrangements.
http://www.nationalexpress.com/TrainsTrain tickets are a little more expensive but the travel time is 4 hours less at just 2 hours direct from Hull! It would be cheaper if I travelled over night, but what I save on Train Fare, I spend on a Hotel!
http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/AutomobilesAs I don't drive, I am unsure of the travelling times and fuel costs involved in a trip to London, but if you are travelling by car, ensure you plan your route, and more importantly, check with your hotel if there is parking, and how much it costs. The last thing we want is for people to get stranded in London....
It might also be advantageous to see if other people locally are attending, perhaps offering a car sharing scheme, which will lessen the financial load, and give you a little company on the way down.
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wlPlanesI know a couple of people who are travelling over on Plane for the Conference, and there are several airports in London, all of which take International Flights.
A discussion on local airports can be found here,
http://forum.casebook.org/showthread.php?t=2214London offers a wide range of local transport, from Taxis, to Buses, and the Tube, I will find out details of these and post them at a later date, to allow you to plan ahead.
The clock is ticking!
Remember, anyone interested should email
mail@ripperconference.com to allow organisers to arrange places.
